Pallets are a very specific material to work with - and so is my way of transforming them into furniture.

Pallet furniture is a quite popular trend of last few years, mainly because it can be made quite cheaply and simply - it requires „only“ some space and basic tools. The most common thing is a pallet bed, sofa or a conference table. The result is mainly a few somehow sanded pallets stacked together with no particular design to be spoken of - three pallets on top of each other can be a table, a conference table, a stand for a TV and so on. My way is quite different. I disassemble the pallets into individual planks and I sand them in a way that the old used industrial look remains but they are smooth to touch. Then I combine the planks to a desired shape. The final toning and surface treatment consists of several layers of professional natural oils and hard wax oils. The result is simply more than standard pallet furniture. The love for music and the need to store my vinyls led me to make a record player and LP storage table - and I am faithful to this direction still. It is a fine combination of several things: a passion for music, passion for handmade wooden creations, and recycling old materials, as the pallets I use are mostly old and broken.
